I purchased a Ladies Kurti from Lifestyle Store in Pacific Mall yesterday. There was a discount of 30 % on the Kurti’s Price. The MRP is Rs. 1699 (Inclusive of All Taxes) as Mentioned on the tag of the Item. As per the discount I had to pay Rs. 1189.30 but the store charged Rs. 1248 from me which I paid from the credit card. When I discussed the issue with them they told me that they collected 5% Vat on the discounted amount. But as per my knowledge the MRP includes VAT and all other taxes so they are charging VAT again giving it a double charging effect.

This practice of them is with all the customers doing shopping from the store and in my thinking they are charging extra from everyone giving them the monetary loss. Secondly, there may be a case of VAT loss to department of Sales Tax. Thirdly this is a straight case of cheating with the customers as they are offering 30% Discount but only 25% is passed to customer.

I want an inquiry to be placed on the store from Sales Tax department and I want them to express a public apology to all the customers in Newspaper.
