Micromax Service Center Not Repairing Faulty Mobile

I purchased Micromax Mobile on 25th january 2015 (PFA the invoice copy for your reference) from unique infoways pvt. ltd. G-2, Goverdhan House, 153-154, Nehru Place, New Delhi. Nearly 20 days after purchasing the unit, my ordeal began.

Even after putting the mobile on charging for hours, it use to either not get charged, or get charged 10-15%. On 28th February i decided to visit the shop from where i purchased it. The salesman there looked at the phone and said that ‘the charging port if not working, go to service center; they will quickly replace it’. On being asked ‘why it has happened within a month, he said ‘its a mobile it happens; you just go to service center’. When i visited the Micromax service center (E-3, Lower ground floor, Main Kalkaji Market, Kalkaji) i was made to wait for a long time. The person there told me this is a big issue and they will take at least 7 days to repair/replace the whole charging unit. As my job requires me to be on mails and on calls most of the time, i asked him to give me a replacement or a spare phone that i can use. The service center people spoke to me very rudely and asked me to talk to ‘People who sold this phone to you. I can’t give you any spare phone’.

I went back to unique infoways, where the sales staff spoke to me rudely and threatened me. They went to the extent of saying that they are franchise and if i have any grievances i must talk to Micromax. “We are not scared of any consumer forum or consumer court if that is what you are talking about”. They were not ready to listen to my pleas that i need a phone and i can’t operate without a phone for 7 days. I asked them for a replacement or a spare phone. but they were almost goon-like in their approach towards me. This is when i decided to leave the place and search for a new phone.

As i had purchased this phone just a month back, i have lost nearly Rs. 9500/- because of this phone. As i needed a working phone urgently. i had to buy a new phone on EMI, this costed me nearly 53000. Physical – The travel was too much as i had to go to-n-fro to their seller and service center almost 3 times. Searching for a new phone took me to places like Saket, Vasant kunj and south extension. Mental Trauma – The sheer way in which staff at unique infoways spoke to me was shocking. it was goon-like and threatening. They knew that consumer is at their mercy and hence they were not bothered. They would have harmed me physically had i tried to say anything further.

Replace my present handset with a completely new one or repay my Rs. 9500/- so that i can repay EMI of my new phone.
