I have repeatedly been overcharged the fare by shared taxi service drivers from Churchgate station to Gateway of India. Instead of the approved fare of Rupees 10, they openly ask for rupees 15 & misbehave with the passengers when insisted on paying the approved fare. They give threats of taxi-union action, misbehave in front of public & passengers & overcrowd their taxis. Even a simple inquiry will reveal the blatant overcharging of fare by taxi drivers.
Kindly pursue this matter of public interest & take necessary measures such as having mandated & clearly displayed tariff for shared taxis/ autos at common routes near railway station/ bus stands/ markets, monitoring of drivers by traffic police The meter fare for a ride from church gate station to gateway of India is around rupees 25. yet the share taxi drivers are allowed to charge rs 10 per person for 4/6 seats (depending on car/van) but they still greed for more and overcharge to Rs15/20 per person, thus profiteering unfairly and also misbehave/abuse Thanking you & hoping for some positive measures to safeguard public interest.
