Sir,

I bought one laptop online from M/s Dell (India) Banglore on 23.03.2008, the laptop and battery bear one year warranty clearly written in Tax Invoice on PAGE-16 at SL. NO. 47 for my son Shashank Goyal, studying in BE.

The laptop was delivered at Jaipur Rajasthan thorough courier on 29.03.2008 and the it was commissioned by Mr Shankar on 02.04.08 (a representative of M/s Wipro) on behalf of M/s Dell India Ltd) (copy enclosed). Till 10 months, it was functioning well and we were happy for choosing the product of M/s Dell. Suddenly on 14.02.09, a warning appeared on laptop screen that the life of battery is almost over hence place an immediate order to purchase new battery.

Hence, On line complaint for replacement of faulty battery was lodged through toll free number- 1800425002. Technical support team of M/s dell asked so many questions and they gave some inputs which were in tern performed through the BIOS of my laptop but no improvement in battery power could appear. So, we requested replacement battery instantly. Instead of sending replacement, an email of quotation was received from Dell on 16.02.2009 for purchasing new 6 cell battery and they asked to send DD of Rs.4300/- by registered post.
I didn’t buy new battery because the battery was under one year warranty. I repeatedly requested Dell and tried to convinced them to send new battery in replacement of faulty battery but, no one helped at all and hence, communication through emails remained almost for six months and thereafter M/s Dell stopped sending response. I also sent my grievance to M/s Dell Banglore by Speed post but they did not respond. My laptop battery is dead since Feb 2009 and I am suffering due to breach of warranty agreement held between me and Dell.
