Packers & Movers – No payments on damages & delays in transit

had engaged the company for shifting of household goods (GC No.4387219) and car from Mumbai to Patna. The goods were dispatched on Nov 15 were received on Nov 25 while the car dispatched on Nov 11 was received on Dec 01. The contact person of the company in Patna, Shri Pandey has refused to reassemble the TV cabinet and fix the dining table. Apart from that several damages listed below may be noted. 1. Three legs of sofa set have been damaged and scratches in sofa (insured for Rs.10000/-) 2. Deep stretches in Godrej almirah (insured for Rs.12000/-) and in double bed (insured for Rs.6000 / -) 3. Cracks in shoe rack (insured for Rs.10000/-) 4. Damages in TV cabinet (insured for Rs.10000/-) 5. Holes in double bed mattress (insured for Rs.3000/-) 6.Scratches in Samsonite trolley bag (insured for Rs.25000/-) 7. One number plate of car was broken The case was discussed with Ms.Priyanka from their Mumbai office and she had asked me to get an estimate from a local carpenter for assembling of TV cabinet. The carpenter has provided an estimate of Rs.2000/- for assembling the TV cabinet and Rs. 15000/- for repair of sofa set, repainting of Altamira, polishing of double bed, etc. It may be noted that the goods were insured and premium payment along with full payment was made in advance. I did not expect such a horrible experience from such a reputed company. The company did not provide any compensation for damages and delays till date despite several reminders.

I want AGARWAL PACKERS should be made to pay a minimum of Rs.20000/- for the issue and severe warning should be given to them to take care of customer grievance in future.
