Reliance Digital Retail Sold Old Sony Laptop With Problems

Unfortunately this complaint is against Sony India and Reliance Digital Retail Ltd both. Events : I purchased a Sony laptop M14212 worth 36500 Rs on 21 Jan From Reliance Digital shop, happily took it home that night. The product was packed in Jun 2013 and sold after 7 months. The laptop displayed the following problems a) Absolutely freezing while playing music (only a vibration sound & you have to pull out the battery as the only resolution) b) touch pad not responding c) suddenly becoming slow for at least 5 minutes that except leaving it idle you wont have an option. Imagining the embarrassment in front of your mates for a brand new laptop

Well I had taken my chance and got seriously annoyed and made up my mind that I don’t want to get into the cycle of visiting/coming back from to service centre. Decided to return it . Why return ? its explained in the end. 4) Visited Reliance digital Store on 23rd morning and said I am not taking any chances and simply want to return the laptop.

Well I was received well but the story continues instead of taking the product back a job sheet is prepared and product is sent to Sony service centre ( in Gurgaon ). Why because Reliance digital needs to get a DOY(blah.blah) that the customer wants to return the product. So Sony will provide their nod that the product cannot be repaired and a refund has to be issued. When was my intention to get it repaired at all ?

SONY did not agree for refund/replacements on below grounds as told to me by Reliance digital store manager: a) Latest drivers are now installed and it was a software issue. The reliance store manager told me that now they have updated and you please take the laptop home, why was Sony sleeping for last 6 months after the product was packed ? If at all so was the case were they waiting for the customer to hue and cry ? This is like taking them for granted.) b) Unwanted software were installed. If at all Reliance is confident about it then why don’t you test it for days instead of just trying to pass the buck)

So I advise all of you not to BUY Products from Reliance Digital Blindly as you may end up in the same sop as I did.
