Reliance General Insurance policy – Misleading Mis- Selling

I along with my family consisting of my Spouse and two children have to travel to Germany and other parts of Europe for which I needed a Travel Insurance for Schengen Countries. I received few calls from their call center as my brother had already given the details to Reliance General Insurance. The executives took the details from me and told me that premium amount for such a policy is Rs 1994 and gave me the details of the coverage. Unfortunately I was not sitting in front of my laptop so I postponed the buying of the policy. On 19th April, I wend to the Reliance General Insurance policy https://www.reliancegeneral.co.in/Insurance/Travel-Insurance/Overseas-Travel-Insurance.aspx and booked the insurance for the family. The problem is that if you follow the website and try booking the Travel policy for Schengen Countries for your family, you end up selecting a wrong policy always. If you go to website: Click on Schengen Insurance policies, then on left go to traveler type dropdown – Select Family, Select No. of Members (Self + Spouse + Child 1 + Child 2), Date of Birth of Senior Most Member and click on calculate premium , it takes you to two policies Gold and Standard. I purchased Gold to be on a safer side. With this policy I submitted the visa application to VFS Global the authorized agents for getting Visa for Germany with a fee of Rs 23000 Approximately. To my surprise I received my passport 4 days later with a refusal to Visa citing problems with Insurance policy. I contacted the consulate next day and was astonished to find out that the policy that I purchased in invalid for Schengen Countries. After a lot of struggle through the Reliance call centres I was connected to their claims department who said that they are not the appropriate persons to deal with the whole situation. I wanted to know what is the correct policy if I have purchased a new one. So I called up the call centre once again this time tried to take the support of their call centre representatives. They took me to the same procedure and took me to the same policy that I had already purchased. The Family Gold policy. I refused to pay and asked them to connect me to their senior as I know this was a wrong policy. The senior after making some research told me that he was extremely sorry but the Schengen Insurance needs minimum 30000 USD per person insurance and the Gold offers only 100000 USD for the whole family which is 25000 USD per person. I subsequently had to purchase individual policies for each person and have to Re-apply for Visa again. Problem: The Website is misleading and takes you to a wrong policy in case you are 4 members (Such option should be deleted from the drop down for Schengen Visa), The call centre employees are also not aware about this and lead you to purchase same policy again and again.

1. I want my Visa fees re-imbursement i.e, Rs 23000 approximately. 2. I need Reliance General Insurance to rectify their website so that other people do not make the same mistake. 3. It is extremely difficult to contact Reliance representatives and get correct information. All you do is to go round and round with the call centre employees who are more interested in selling than to help you. 4. I still do not know whom to address this issue to at Reliance. Therefore I need your support. I am under severe mental agony.
