Samsung LCD TV – Refuse to undertake repairs – Review

SAMSUNG company has been following unethical practices. They refuse to undertake repairs of their defective LCD TVs with one excuse or the other . The biggest excuse is that parts are not available. The other excuse is that it the set bought from abroad does not have international Warranty . They did not repair my 26″ LCD TV bought in India with the excuse that display is not available . In the case of LCD TV brought from Singapore, they refuse to provide services though they claim that it is a global company. The mail received from them is reproduced below- This is in reference to your email dated 04/06/2014 regarding your complaint against Samsung LCD TV. We would like to inform you that we had a discussion with our management and as per the discussion we had, we regret to inform you that the part required to repair you unit is currently not available. Also the unit was purchased from out of India on 18.10.2007 and the unit is more than 6 and half years old. Their International office has gone one step further that I should take this TV to Singapore for repairs at my cost. They are not prepared to get the replacement of damaged part to India for repairing my TV at my cost. Their smart phones are equally bad . It got conked off within 4 months for which they replaced the mother board since it was in warranty period. GOI has already found that their Star Air conditioner has failed when checked for actual savings in power. They are doing most unethical business and are looting the Indian public with large advertisements . Quality and durability of their products is questionable. We must stop all imports of such poor quality of products from abroad. This craze can be controlled once we make a production hub right in our country. The new Government must review this policy of permitting entry of all such spurious goods . Please help me to get my 32″ LCD TV repaired or they should compensate me appropriately.

They should either repair or replace with their set. There is a big talk going on in the market about the poor quality of their product particularly display system. They are spending crores of Rupees on Advertisements to push their sub standard products
