Airtel: Unethical practice of automatically subscribing for unasked services (at a cost)

At the outset, I wish to inform you that me and my family are long time subscribers of Airtel. With 4 Airtel tele connections and an Airtel broadband – I least expect such uncouth behaviour from the largest telecom player in the country. I “was” of the belief that Airtel was an ethical company – not resorting to backhanded techniques to make money of its customer.

SMS service on my mobile

Few days back i received a message from AD-54321 saying “you have been renewed for SMS subscription service from Airtel. You have been charged Rs.10”. I was surprised to see this as i never subscribed for any of such service.
This is really annoying that Airtel starts any service on their own and debit the amonut from account vigorously.

Cancelled my number without notice

Hello,
Airtel have cancelled my phone number withour any prior notice. My prepaid number was 9880242894. I was holding this number since 2004. Also there was an existing amount or approx. 2300 INR which they digested. The reason they gave was I was not using it for more than 150 days. But I was using it frequently.
