I got to know about YOU Broadband’s new offer of 4 mbps@ just Rs. 2522 only through leaflets shared with Newspaper. I applied for a new connection (CRF – 607721) on 2nd Aug 2014. Agent Naveen (9030003xxx) from Hyderabad YOU Broadband visited my house and collected the payment (Chq No – 077012). Surprisingly I was notified the information in leaflet was incorrect and the new price charged to me was Rs. 3308. I was promised the connection will be completed within 3-4 days which never happened. I contacted customer service 3 times but every time I had the same response – connection will be done as soon as possible. Unfortunately there was no limit to ASAP. I further escalated this matter to senior leaders (kishore.velankar@youbroadband.co.in ; samir.pathak@youbroadband.co.in ; ccteam@youbroadband.co.in ; corp.comm@youbroadband.co.in) at You broadband through a mail on 16th Aug. I demanded a speedy action and hold people accountable who unnecessarily harass customers with a false promise. I was assured of a resolution same day (Aug 16) which obviously did not happen. I was informed there was some issue in getting permission from society to allow the cabling. I personally helped YOU broadband area sales manager who visited my society for getting the due permission by 22nd Aug. There was no action until Aug 29 when I wrote another email to YOU broadband leaders. I was again assured of a prompt attention which did result in nothing on ground. I again sent a mail on Sep 6 asking the status on connection which was not responded at all. Finally I wrote a mail to the YOU Broadband looping in appl.hyd@youbroadband.co.in on Sep 13 warning them a legal action in case of no response. The content of the mail goes below: “It’s extremely frustrating that there has been no response from the company despite multiple emails. It seems there is no grievance redressal mechanism in the company. I have already waited more than 30 days to get this connection and there has been no action on the ground. It does not make sense to wait any longer. To me, it clearly looks like a fraud case. Would like to inform that if I do not receive any response by 15th Sep 2014, I’ll be constrained to initiate legal proceedings against you by holding you responsible for fraudulent practices and mental agony. Please treat this as my last correspondence for seeking any amicable resolution.” Post this mail I was contacted by AGM for a speedy action and close things by 17th Sep. Nothing has happened so far and I believe nothing will happen until I file a case in consumer court. It looks like the company owns zero responsibility once the payment is made. Surprisingly I received a call today (20th Sep) that YOU Broadband has received cancellation request from me for this connection. It all seems a gimmick of this company. I never requested for any cancellation and now I am very firm that I have to get the connection as well as due compensation for delay and mental agony. Would request
1. successful installation 2. compensation for mental agony (if required consumer court case – I want to teach them a lesson and make them understand there is a rule of law in the country. YOU can’t take customer for a ride)
